Heaven and earth rejoice New expansion of the Coptic mission A new town in Congo receive their first priests

The Coptic Orthodox Church went to a small town in Congo called Kananga many years ago. The church went many times teaching and caring for the people in this village. The people there were hungry to know more about Jesus. Many hundreds were baptized.
Due to a civil war, the church mission leaders were prevented from entering this village for many years. By the grace of God He opened the door for the mission to return after 10 years. We discovered the church had grown and was very active in saving souls and building leaders. Two specific leaders were chosen for further training to be future priests.
After many years and tears, the Coptic Orthodox Church welcome their first priests in Kananga, Father Peter and Father Mark.
It is hard describe the beautiful sight when the congregation welcomed their new priests to the church. There was a procession starting from the street. We marched 20 minutes to the church while there was singing and shouts of joy and members were waiving tree branches and flowers. The faces on the people were in amazement because God brought their shepherds home. Hundreds of people came out of their homes to join the celebration.
As bishop Paul, fr Abraham from Zambia, fr Paul and frtheophilous from our churches in Lubumbashi, Congo and our missionary Deacon mickelFarag, entered the church the priests were in tears because of the miracle that our Lord did by anointing them for this great mission. All of us who attended felt the love and grace of God for His people in this remote town. God cares about all His children, great and small. He will do whatever it takes to save all His children.
Kananga is small town in the interior bush area of Congo, very simple poor people who were praying that God in His grace visit them.
Today truly the heaven and earth rejoice for Gods new chosen servants. Never again will this town be left without a shepherd.
